Dr. King is honored to be a recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). This award is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on outstanding scientists and engineers in the early stages of their independent careers. Recipients of this award are selected by the White House after being nominated by the top U.S. research agencies. Dr. King was nominated by the Department of Defense. As part of this award, King received a five-year, $500,000 grant to continue his research program in advanced Hall-effect thrusters.
